What should I feed my dog?

Hey All! Hope everyone has had a fabulous holiday! Many of us will now be examining our eating habits as we ring in the new year.  I have had a number of clients asking me about nutrition for their furry loved ones as well.  While this is not really my area of expertise,  I recently had the opportunity to visit with the folks at Verus Holistic Pet Foods to chat about this subject.  The video that follows is the conversation that I had with Candace Leitman, the brand manager at Verus.  Have a listen!

 THE NOSE KNOWS!

Sweet Potato Dog Treats

Ingredients:

Sweet potatoes (that’s literally it!)

Directions:

Wash and dry whole sweet potatoes.

Cut both of the pointy ends off to make cutting easier.

Stand cut end on cutting board and cut slices approximately 1⁄2” thick. Cut slices into thick fries.

Place sweet potatoes fries on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake at 275° for 3 hours or longer if you want them to be crispier. I usually cook 4-5 potatoes at a time, filling up
my oven with several cookie sheets. I figure if I am going to run my oven for this length of time I
may as well optimize my yield!

Store treats in fridge for up to 4 weeks.
